Brief Bio

Bob has over 40 years experience in the areas of federal and state tax law, estate planning, business organizations and business transactions, including tax planning, tax controversy, representation before the IRS in audit and collection matters, Tax Court litigation, representation before the Comptroller in state tax matters, planning and formation of business entities, conversions, mergers and acquisitions, and family business succession planning.  Bob solves federal and state tax planning problems that arise in business transactions and advises clients in connection with their relationship with the Internal Revenue Service including reporting positions, audit, appeals, collection and Tax Court litigation.  He also serves as a trustee of several trusts.  A good deal of his professional time today involves estate planning and family business succession planning.

The Rest of the Story

Bob was born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas.  After attending college and law school at the University of Texas in Austin and working in Houston as an engineer and CPA, Bob returned to Corpus Christi with his wife, Sandy, and two daughters, Stacy and Wendy, and has practiced law as a tax attorney in Corpus Christi since then, first, with the Kleberg, Mobley, Lockett & Weil law firm and its successors and then with Wallace & Wheeler, L.L.P.

Bob was an avid golfer and hunter but now spends most of his free time gardening, reading, walking with his faithful dog, Sassy, in the Del Mar neighborhood, walking with Sandy on the beach, enjoying friends in Corpus Christi and being with his daughters, sons-in-law and grandchildren in Austin and Dripping Springs, Texas.
