Professional Experience

Bob has practiced tax law in Corpus Christi for more than 40 years, beginning his career with the Kleberg, Mobley, Lockett & Weil firm and its successor firms before later joining Wallace & Wheeler, L.L.P. Over the course of his career, he has built a broad practice focused on federal and state tax law, estate planning, business organizations, and complex business transactions.

Bob advises clients on a wide range of matters, including tax planning and controversy issues, entity formation and restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, and family business succession planning. He regularly represents individuals and businesses before the Internal Revenue Service in audits, appeals, collection proceedings, and Tax Court for litigation, as well as before the Texas Comptroller in state tax matters. A significant portion of his current practice is devoted to estate planning and helping family-owned businesses navigate generational transitions, while also providing ongoing guidance on federal and state tax issues that arise throughout the life of a business.

Personal Story

A lifelong Texan, Bob was born and raised in Corpus Christi. After earning both his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Texas at Austin, he began his professional career in Houston, where he worked as both an engineer and a CPA. He and his wife, Sandy, eventually returned to Corpus Christi, where they raised their two daughters, Stacy and Wendy.

Earlier in life, Bob was an avid golfer and hunter, but these days he enjoys a quieter pace. He spends much of his free time gardening, reading, and taking walks through the Del Mar neighborhood with his faithful dog, Sassy. He also treasures long walks on the beach with Sandy, time with friends in Corpus Christi, and visits with his daughters, sons-in-law, and grandchildren in Austin and Dripping Springs.
