Brief Bio
Joe Stallone practices in the areas of entertainment law, litigation and general business law. As one of the music industry’s leading legal advisors, he represents a large number of music and music-business clients (including multiple festival properties, venues, promoters, award-winning artists, record labels, recording studios, producers, and managers) in connection with all aspects of the music business, including litigation, contracts, business formation and administration, management, trademark, copyright, publishing, touring, production, and funding. Stallone also represents a number of successful clients in the food and beverage industry, as well as multiple influencers, authors, actors, film production companies, and entrepreneurs in all aspects of their business.
In addition, Stallone maintains a diverse civil litigation practice, representing a number of individuals and businesses in complex litigation. His work encompasses all aspects of state and federal litigation, arbitration, and other forms of alternative dispute resolution.
Stallone has served as Commissioner on the Austin Music Commission, Governor with the Recording Academy of Texas, and professor of Legal Aspects of the Music Industry at the Austin Community College for Music Business.
The Rest of the Story
Stallone maintains a strong sense of faith, and credits all blessings to God and Jesus Christ. Stallone has been blessed with three strong and determined sons (including a Naval officer, a Marine pilot, and a race car driver) and a strong and caring daughter (who currently enjoys playing and coaching soccer while finishing high school).
Stallone’s commitment to serving others is evident by his community service. Stallone has served as Vice President of Operations of the Austin Boys & Girls Club, and a board member of the Texas Dancehall Preservation. Stallone currently serves as an advisor to Sonic Guild (a non-profit committed to supporting the creation and performance of new music) and Swan Songs (a non-profit fulfilling musical last wishes), and is actively involved in his church (both in various men’s groups and youth programming).
Troubled by the removal of music programs from public schools, Stallone (in 2007) formed Grounded in Music, a nonprofit that provides musical instruments and instruction to underprivileged youth in the Austin area. Grounded in Music’s sole purpose is to leverage the power of music to transform young lives by creating self-confidence, opportunity, and hope.
When not at work or involved in community service, Stallone enjoys waterskiing, boating, mountain-biking, and spending time with his family.
