Brief Bio

Gary’s practice focuses on high-technology patent preparation, prosecution and strategic patent portfolio development. He has diverse intellectual property experience in a variety of technical areas and has been involved in developing valuable patent portfolios directed to a multitude of technologies in telecommunications and computer networking, hardware, software, lasers, social media networks, consumer electronics, medical devices, and automotive and aerospace components and systems. Gary has additional experience in preparing intellectual property opinions on patent infringement and validity, IP due diligence and general IP counseling.

The Rest of the Story

Gary was raised in Paramus, New Jersey and attended Rutgers University where he studied Aerospace Engineering as part of his life-long passion for aviation. Upon graduation in 1986, Gary moved to Connecticut and began his career as an Aerospace Engineer at United Technologies, Sikorsky Aircraft Division. Gary is also a licensed instrument-rated pilot with over 30 years of flying experience.

Gary moved to south Florida in 1989 and attended Nova Southeastern University, from which he received a J.D. in 1992.

Following graduation from law school, Gary moved to New York, New York, where he worked as an Associate at two IP law firms for 8 years serving large corporate clients including IBM, Matsushita (Panasonic), Lucent, C.R. Bard, and Corning. In 2000, he joined AT&T as a Senior IP Attorney, where he spent 3 years, followed by another 8 years as outside counsel to AT&T in his own Firm.  In 2011, Gary relocated to South Florida and joined BlackBerry as a Senior IP Attorney for 3 years and served several years thereafter as outside counsel to BlackBerry, Twitter, IBM, ARM and the U.S. Air Force.

Gary resides in Delray Beach, Florida with his fiancé and their two fur babies.  In his free time, he enjoys being with his three children, traveling, skiing and playing guitar in a local band.
