Biography
Sarah’s practice focuses on commercial and corporate transactions and business operations. She specializes in complex, cross-border contract drafting, review and negotiations, technology and telecommunications hardware and software matters, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and operational matters. She serves as outsourced general counsel, and also helps clients to find specialist legal support they need in other practice areas.
The Rest of the Story
Sarah grew up in Dallas, Texas as the oldest of five siblings. She graduated from the Texas Academy of Math & Science, an early entrance university program at UNT in Denton, Texas for high school students identified as gifted in math, science and technology. She then attended the University of Texas in Austin as a National Merit Scholar, where she discovered she found people and cultures as interesting as math and science and pivoted towards anthropology and business. After working for some time in the financial department of a large, private conglomerate and then a social services agency, Sarah returned to the University of Texas, this time to the School of Law, and began practicing law after graduating and passing the bar in 2007.
At this time, Sarah moved to Dubai, UAE with her husband (also a lawyer), where she worked for the largest regional law firm in the Middle East – Al Tamimi & Co, in the banking and corporate finance practice, focusing on capital and debt raising for private equity, cross-border funds, and syndicated lending projects. After four years she was invited to join a private equity company with telecommunications assets across Europe, the Middle East and Africa as Legal Counsel. After working up to Senior Legal Counsel, Sarah was asked to join one of the group’s asset companies (Axiom Telecom) as the Group Director of Legal and Company Secretary, where she served for seven years and built up the legal department covering all aspects of the legal function from complex, cross-border investment, commercial, and corporate matters, operational matters, IP management, employment, corporate finance and treasury matters, technology and telecommunications contracts and regulations, company secretarial support and compliance.
During this time Sarah and her husband welcomed a girl and then a boy, both born in Dubai, and being raised as 3rd culture kids and highly experienced travelers with a family spread across three continents. In 2023, Sarah joined Grable Martin PLLC as a member and works closely with other lawyers in the firm on corporate finance, securities, syndication, general investment, general corporate and M&A projects.
