Biography

Michael is a seasoned trial lawyer who has tried dozens of cases, including state and federal jury trials and bench trials and arbitrations in a multitude of forums.  His practice involves all forms of dispute management, ranging from pre-litigation through litigation and trial.  Representative matters include contractual disputes, large corporate battles, landlord/tenant disputes, securities litigation, non-compete and non-solicitation litigation, real estate transactions gone bad, oil and gas litigation, lender liability cases, fiduciary litigation and prosecution of fraud and fraud schemes.

Michael grew up in Burleson, Texas, a small town south of Fort Worth.  After graduating from Burleson High School, he left for San Antonio, Texas, where he studied political science at Trinity University.  He also played football for Trinity and lettered each of his four years.  Michael graduated from Trinity in 1991 and started law school at Southern Methodist University in 1992.

After completing law school and passing the bar in 1995, Michael joined Jenkens & Gilchrist and began his career as a litigator.  He began trying cases for the clients of the Jenkens & Gilchrist real estate section in the early 2000s and he continued to work closely with that group for many years until he joined a small Dallas litigation boutique, Crouch & Ramey, in 2007.  While with Crouch & Ramey, Michael represented landlords, tenants and property owners in connection with commercial real estate and leasing disputes, including all aspects of landlord/tenant conflicts, defended and prosecuted broker-dealers and associated persons in securities litigation and represented corporate clients and financial institutions in commercial and business disputes, including breach of contract, business torts, trademark infringement and officer and director liability.  In 2016, Crouch & Ramey merged into Kilpatrick Townsend.

In July 2020, Michael joined Grable Martin PLLC and continues his work as a trial lawyer on behalf of individuals, start-ups, small to mid sized companies, Fortune 500 companies and everything in between.
