Personal Story

Brad grew up in San Antonio, Texas, where he spent most of his time playing just about every sport he could—tennis, basketball, football, baseball, soccer, and track. After graduating from Churchill High School in 1992, he headed up Interstate 35 to the University of Texas at Austin, earning a bachelor’s degree in English with a minor in Spanish, before returning home to San Antonio to attend St. Mary’s University School of Law. After Law School graduation and while studying for the bar exam, Brad got a random call from a high school friend who was moving to Aspen, Colorado and asked if he wanted to come along. Without hesitation, Brad said yes and just three days after finishing the Texas bar exam, he packed up his Ford Explorer and drove north. He then spent a memorable year in Aspen that sparked his lifelong love for the outdoors and the mountains.

Today, Brad is married to his wonderful wife, Chrissy, and together they have two children, Dylan and Sadie Belle. The family calls Austin home, but they take every opportunity to escape to the mountains—whether it’s skiing, hiking, biking, fishing, rafting, or simply enjoying the cooler weather and time outdoors together.
