Professional Experience

Marshall advises business owners and operators on protecting, growing, and maximizing the value of their businesses and investments. Drawing on experience across a wide range of industries, he combines business insight with practical legal counsel to help clients navigate transactions, resolve disputes, and achieve their goals. His background includes hands-on experience in business operations, giving him a practical understanding of the challenges his clients face. Known for his strategic and solutions-oriented approach, Marshall helps clients identify opportunities, manage risk, and find practical paths forward, whether negotiating a deal or resolving a conflict. After moving to London to study law, Marshall qualified as a barrister and worked throughout Europe, including in England, Bulgaria, and Norway. During this time, he served as in-house counsel for startup companies focused on underserved markets, gaining firsthand experience building and growing businesses. He also advised technology companies on incorporating artificial intelligence into their products and services. After returning to the United States, Marshall joined Franzetti Law, where he advised clients on mergers and acquisitions. He later practiced at Lopez Law Group, gaining valuable experience in the insurance industry and its impact on litigation and business strategy. Marshall subsequently joined Latham & Watkins, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions, contract analysis, due diligence, and risk assessment. He worked on transactions involving private equity, venture capital, and sovereign wealth funds across industries including aerospace, banking, energy, healthcare, real estate, software, and technology. Before joining Grable Martin PLLC, Marshall practiced with Cornor Law, representing business owners and operators in both transactions and business disputes. His diverse legal and business background allows him to provide practical, results-driven counsel tailored to each client’s needs.

Personal Story

Marshall grew up in Fort Worth and graduated with honors from the University of Texas at Arlington, earning a degree in History and Business while attending on a full-fee scholarship and playing for the university’s soccer team. After college, he moved to England to study law at the University of Leeds and City St. George’s, University of London. Upon qualifying as a barrister, he remained in Europe, living and working in England, Bulgaria, and Norway. Marshall later returned to Houston to be closer to family, where he became involved in clean technology and renewable energy ventures. During this time, he also returned to legal practice, earning a Master of Laws from the University of Houston and joining the Texas Bar. Not long after, he met his wife, Nicole, and together they built their life in Houston. They are proud parents to their son, Felix, who enjoys building things, studying, and fishing with his family. Outside of work, Marshall practices Aikido, a martial art focused on resolving conflict while minimizing harm. He is active in Houston’s clean technology community through Houstainable and supports literacy and dyslexia initiatives, including the Houston Branch of the International Dyslexia Association. Above all, he enjoys spending time with his family and encouraging whatever new interest has captured Felix’s attention.
